The items you craft for the host of the west come in two types. Teal which are Bundle of Dagorland Provisions (cook), Collection of Dagorland Artifacts (scholar), Set of Gondorian Garments (tailor), Set of Gondorian Armour Reinforcements (armourer), Set of Gondorian Weapon Parts (weaponsmith), Set of Gondorian Woodcrafts (woodworker), and Set of Polished Onyx (jeweler). The gold are Bundle of Rangers' Provisions (cook), Restored Collection of Dagorland Artifacts (scholar), Set of Padded Gondorian Garments (tailor), Set of Ranger' Armour Reinforcement (armourer), Set of Refined Gondorian Weapon Parts (weaponsmith), Set of Fine Gondorian Woodcrafts (woodworker), Set of Refined Polished Onyx (jeweler).
For crafting you will need journals, there are three ways to get them. First is to find them in craft nodes, the second is to barter 25 golden and 25 violet flowers for each one, the third is from featured instances.
These items are all used for the exact same thing, the teal items are used to trade for the low rep items (salt, broken blades and metal scraps), the gold items are used to trade for the large rep items (provisions, armour, and weapons). The barter items that you craft aren't bound at all so you can move them between toons or sell them if you wish. The only use of the barter items is to get rep items, the rep items are used to barter for the items.
The gear you can get from the faction groups are only barterable once you reach kindred level with the group in question. Though you can get lesser versions at ally level I suggest not using rep items on those as you will be close to kindred at that point anyway.
gold 3 slot earrings (from the provisioner) which cost - 80 salt and 20 provisions each
gold 3 slot pocket (from the armourer) which cost - 80 metal scraps and 20 armour each
gold 3 necklaces (from the weaponsmith) which cost - 80 broken blades and 20 weapons each
You can get gold off hand items for minstrel, warden (dps shield), guardian, captain shield, champion, hunter, beorning, lore-master, and burglar (sorry RKs you get nothing).
Each of these items cost 80 small rep items, 20 large rep items and 3 tarnished sigils of Gondor. You get the sigils of Gondor as a random drop from the bosses of the fellowship crafting instances, luckily the drop rate is reasonably high.
Because of the high number of lower rep items you need to craft, and the fact that the only recipe that guarantees the barter items used to get them is a week long cooldown, it is best to use only the larger rep items to get kindred. It takes 75 teal rep items, with accelerators, to get to kindred with any one group.
